I’m excited to share the latest updates to phillybellydancer.com! Below you’ll find information on some new classes that have been shared with me, as well as details on the Philly Belly Dance Showcase coming up next Sunday! As always, teachers, promoters, dancers, please send in your events and listings so we have as comprehensive a resource as possible and I can share with the broader community! • Amalia teaches in Broomall, PA on Monday and Wednesday evenings and has a new 4 week session in Mayaunk coming up starting next week. www.amaliadance.com

The Philly Belly Dance Showcase is coming up next week!

My vision for these events is to highlight the diverse roots of belly dance — showcasing a variety of styles that reflect its rich cultural heritage, with a touch of fusion in the mix. I’m passionate about creating these showcases in a spirit of collaboration over competition, bringing dancers together to celebrate our shared love of the art form and to introduce the wider community to its beauty and diversity. I also strive to keep each event lineup fresh, welcoming new faces to help our dance community grow and expand.

Beyond an amazing show, you’ll have the chance to savor delicious Greek entrees and desserts from Traditional Greek Sweets, enjoy a beautiful henna design by Henna by Shanze, and browse my shop featuring veils, hip scarves, jewelry, and Turkish textiles from Minnie and Moon.

After the performances, the dance floor will open up for some belly dancing and Dabke line dancing — no experience necessary! If you’d like a little guidance before jumping in, there’s also an optional mini lesson before the show.
